FCC Commissioner Ajit Pai, in a speech at Carnegie Mellon, signaled his interest  in helping drive innovation in the never-ending quest for more spectrum by implementing “Section 7” of the Communications Act. For those not familiar with that, read the entire story here: FierceWireless Story.

His intentions are excellent. Let innovators in the private sector propose new uses for spectrum, as opposed to letting the regulators figure it out. It seems like a perfect suggestion to further drive innovative uses of a finite (and much in demand) resource.
